The ICO is the UK's independent body set up to uphold information rights.
The ICO's role is to uphold information rights in the public interest, including matters pertaining to the Data Protection Act 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR).
