1. In order for the Police to confirm the applicants identity at the fingerprint appointment.
2. A photograph is kept by DBS for 3 months and then destroyed; this allows for further analysis of the photograph by the Police or Registered Body if required.
The Countersignatory will receive a photograph at the end of the Fingerprint process to ensure the correct person has provided fingerprints. The photograph is sent with a letter and the Countersignatory must check the photograph against the applicant; if the photograph is not the applicant, the Countersignatory must contact DBS.
